Lime Oil, which is technically not an essential oil, but a pressed oil though there is a steam distilled variety available, Lime Steam Distilled. The differce is that the cold pressed has more of the tart notes, while the steam distilled has less tartness, and is much more sweet, more like a candy.
Lime Oil is well known for it's uplifting, refreshing qualities, it is a great choice for summer recipes as well as for diffusing to neutralize odor.
Like most of the pressed oils Lime Oil is a great choice for oily, and congested, skin conditions where it will assist in drying the excess oil, without over drying and causing the skin to create more oil in an attempt to re-balance the skin. It will also have an astringent effect on the skin making it suitable for hair care applications.
